Microgrant Program

Opportunities are twice a year: March 1 & September 15
The Skid Row Arts Alliance Microgrant Program is designed to foster innovation, supporting underfunded community members of Skid Row with already established projects (up to $1,000), as well as Professional Development projects (up to $500). Due date for submission is September 15, 2025.
Who Can Apply
This opportunity is available to any artist, organizer, collaborative duo, or collective maintaining a residence within the Los Angeles Metro Area and self-identifying as a member of the Skid Row community is eligible to apply. SRAA Microgrants are open to artists and organizers of all disciplines regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religious background, differing abilities, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or economic status. Current SRAA staff or members of the Board of Directors or immediate family members are not eligible. Applicants with incomplete grant contracts funded by SRAA in previous years are not eligible.
Eligibility Requirements
Established Projects with a track record in project planning, scope of work, and proposed outcome.
Project/Event must be mostly planned out and will take place with or without SRAA funding.
Project/Event must be open to the public.
Project/Event must not have happened prior to grant award.
Funds cannot be used for expenses prior to the grant period.
Funds cannot be used for things not within scope of project (i.e., personal supplies such as groceries)
Awardees will wait one grant cycle–year to be eligible to reapply for this grant again.
Proposal
Please provide the following:
• Short narrative of project:
Address the following in your proposal:
WHO are the project lead and collaborators.
HOW and WHAT are the activities you’ll undertake.
WHEN is the event to take place.
WHERE is the project location and are there partner venues or other places
WHY is this project relevant? What is the value to the community/individual?
• Resume: Include examples of art activation, either personal or communal.
• Budget: Include expenses such as artist fees, supplies, materials.
Please note: funding cannot be used for expenses prior to the grant period.
If Awarded, applicant(s) agree to participate in an interview about their project for the SRAA Zine, three (3) to six (6) months after grant awarded/post project culmination; and provide a W9 tax form.
